Continuous Data Protection PDF Print

What is Continuous Data Protection (CDP)?

Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is a new backup technology that provides disk-based backups over the network to a central server. CDP will initially back up your entire hard disk and then, on a regular basis, backup the changed data.

What are the advantages of CDP?

Compared to traditional tape backup, CDP provides for faster back-up and restore times, regular incremental back ups, full-metal restore (possible with some, but not all tape products) and consistent backup images using "snapshots".

What systems are supported?

Our CDP system supports most Linux platforms (including Centos 5) and Windows 2003.
